Lyn Paleo, MPA,
DrPH, has twenty-five years experience in the non-profit health
and human services field. For the past 14 years she has consulted
with evaluation programs in the non-profit sector, including
programs for HIV/AIDS, homelessness, substance abuse, food
security, health promotion, literacy, and occupational health.
Research and consulting clients have included federal, state,
and local agencies, community non-profit organizations, and
philanthropic foundations.
She specializes
in designing and presenting evaluation results to meet the
practical needs of clients. She integrates theory-based and
participatory evaluation techniques, as well as quantitative
and qualitative results, on a case-by-case basis to fit the
client’s specific situation.
Ms Paleo received a Masters of Public Administration (MPA)
from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and a Doctor
of Public Health degree (DrPH) at UC Berkeley’s School
of Public Heath. Her dissertation is titled "Conventional
and Participatory Evaluation: A Comparison of Theory and Practice".
For the past five years she has taught a graduate level course
on program evaluation at UCB School of Public Health.
“I
really like to work in collaboration with program staff
to design an evaluation plan that is practical, affordable,
and rich in useful information. Each evaluation I work on
is unique, yet is built from the comprehensive evaluation
‘tool kit’ I’ve developed with years of
experience.”
