Our Vision
Further The Work exists to advance the social good by providing fundraising, organizational development, and strategic planning services to organizations working for the greater good.
At FTW, we envision a world in which equity is embedded into every aspect of our lives; in which multi-sector alliances together weave a social fabric sufficient to meet people’s essential needs; in which technological resources providing real-time information management allow us to collectively recognize unmet needs, identify and employ best practices, and continue to advance social justice; and in which people are enabled to understand themselves and others.
FTW has expertise in working with mental health and social service programs, arts programs for youth, education programs, youth-development programs, re-entry programs, workforce development programs, and programs serving at-risk children, families, or individuals.
Fundraising, Marketing, & Communications: Whether it’s through government grants or direct mail or million-dollar bequests from somebody’s Aunt Aretha—fundraising isn’t really about getting dollars through the door. It’s about partnership: about aligning people who are doing certain things with people who want to see those things done and will offer their support.
This premise underlies every element of our approach to fundraising & communications. Whether through direct mail campaigns, major donor cultivation, e-communications, budget development and narratives, prospect research, letters of inquiry, grant applications, and reports—in every instance, we aspire to help our clients form lasting relationships with others who share their mission.
Project Management: Philanthropic organizations exist to ensure that their support – usually, their financial support—is put to the most effective and efficient use possible, to further a social goal.
Finding the right fit of funder and nonprofit partner is a critical task, of course. But in a way, it’s just the beginning. Over time, the question may emerge: How can we maximize the utility and value of this support? How can we all know what difference we’re making?
At Further The Work, we can help. We can serve as facilitative liaisons between funders and grantees, providing effective and collaborative project management, technical assistance, and reporting.
Strategic Planning: Strategic planning is nothing more or less than an opportunity to ask yourself, or ask anew, the key questions: Who are we? What do we want to accomplish? Are we all headed in the same direction? What must we do to reach a shared destination? How will we know when and if we’ve arrived, and what will that future place look like?
At Further The Work, we can collaborate with you to undertake a manageable, revealing, and gratifying strategic planning process to clarify your organizational course. We can provide skilled, insightful, and inclusive facilitation services to help your organization tackle difficult conversations, explore new ideas, and face challenges in thoughtful, productive, and effective ways. |
